PART I: FAITH
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
Galatians 3:16 KJV
-
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
We see here in Galatians Paul confirms that we are not justified by the law. We have established that the law is the writings of Moses. The law is not of faith. We can only receive the promise of the spirit through faith.
Romans 4:1-4 KJV
-
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
-
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
-
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
-
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
We can go back to Romans as the previous chapter we now have a clearer understanding of this, Abraham could not be justified by works of the law, but by his faith and belief in God he was able to be adopted into the family. Because of his belief, God established him as a foundation to the nation beginning with the seed of Christ. Abraham started something. You must go back and research Abraham’s story and his background to understand why it was particularly special for him to believe in God. His act of believing in God and the amount of faith he had was extraordinary. He was born of pagan culture in the city of Ur. It is interesting to note the time difference between Abraham and Christ. This time difference is in the span of approximately 1800 years. God allowed so much to happen in between that time, before sending “His Word” in the flesh to save us from our curse through the law.
CHAPTER III: THE PROMISE
Here we see the term “renewal unto repentance”, but what does that mean? What does that look like? Let’s establish a few facts out of this passage. Paul is referring to those who were full believers perfected in the things of God and established a relationship so great that they have tasted the good word and the powers beyond this world. They are them that know God beyond what the human mind can comprehend. This is why the verse says it is impossible for them to start their works over again laying again the foundation of repentance. Verse 6 makes this clear, for them to turn away after having the full knowledge of God beyond belief is the very act of denial, kills the very spirit of God within them and calls God a liar before the world.
So, what does that mean for us who “believe”? Does that mean we can’t be saved again if we mess up? Does that mean, after accepting God and walking after the righteousness of God we cannot again start over if we fall into worldly temptation? Absolutely not! This passage of the word is referring to the elect group who has “perfected”. We can use Paul for an example.
We see that Paul distinctly refers to the “seed” being singular unto Abraham as “Christ”. He makes it clear that seed in a singular form was on purpose because if “seeds” were used it would discount the truth of being circumcised unto redemption through one perfect man. It wasn’t literal that all the fleshly seeds of Abraham the promise was made. It was through the spiritual seed the promise was fulfilled. Abraham of pagan decent was not born of the favored people of God. However, because of the faith of Abraham the promise was established through the seed. This fact is again important because Christ is the beginning. Because He is the “seed”. Christ is the curse. Because He became the curse. Christ is also the end. Because he is the end of the law. What do we mean that Christ became a curse. Verse 13 of Galatians tell us that through the law any man that is hung on a tree is cursed. When Christ died on the cross through the law He became a curse. He established himself as the curse so that he could bury it in the grave with Him. Therefore, establishing the beginning of the Spirit that we accept through faith.
